This bond and attachment, as they learn *who* their master is, takes time). if there is two people having meltdowns in a room, a service dog is supposed to go to their master, and not the other person. It actually takes a service animal to "bond" with its master (ie. You don't just pick one up with a few days notice and a written list of commands. Waitlist times for service dogs are actually months, sometimes years long. While the storyline and writing is pretty good, it was let down by the author's poor research regarding the disability experience. ![]()
